The pulse counter has been designed for remote monitoring of the water flow through the water meter or any counter with a pulse output. Thanks to the use of the Efento pulse counter, it is possible to remotely read the current water consumption and control the related expenses. The solution is dedicated to the monitoring of dispersed facilities, where current control of water consumption is impossible and in hard-to-reach places, where a one-time installation of the meter allows constant control. Analysis of current data allows for quick detection of anomalies, constant monitoring of plumbing and minimising the effects of flooding due to quick detection of a fault. The pulse counter can be easily configured to work with existing water meters, without having to replace them – it is only necessary that the water meter is equipped with an impulse output.
The pulse counter is available in one, two or three channel version, which allows simultaneous operation with up to three water meters. The pulse counting period is configurable and ranges from 1 minute to 10 days. By default, each counted pulse represents one liter of flowing water (l). Data are presented in the form of water flow (in liters per minute) or in the form of water consumption over a selected period of time (in m³).
The devices are powered by a battery that ensures their maintenance-free operation for a period of at least two years, thanks to which the installation does not require additional power and signal cables. The meter can be placed anywhere and additionally secured with a silicone cover to protect against excess moisture.
The sensors are equipped with Bluetooth Low Energy, thanks to which they can communicate with smartphones with the Android operating system and Efento Gateway, which enables data transfer to the Efento Cloud platform. The counted pulses are saved in the device’s memory and then sent to the Efento Cloud platform. Additionally, it is possible to read historical data from the device’s memory using the Efento Logger application (if no monitoring is required). The application also allows you to generate a report on water consumption in a selected period of time.
Efento Cloud enables data collection, report generation and informing users via email / SMS about exceeding the set threshold of water consumption. For example, setting alarm thresholds for the amount of flowing water allows you to send an alert with an alarm, e.g. when a pipe breaks and the amount of flowing water increases rapidly.
The pulse counter is universal and can cooperate with any current meter equipped with a pulse output. The Efento pulse recorder is equipped with three channels, thanks to which it can cooperate with three electricity meters simultaneously.
Depending on the software used and the transmission method, the Efento pulse counter can work in 3 modes:
- Efento Logger – is a reporting mode of operation, it is most often used for long-term monitoring of the current image by a given device. It is used, for example, in large companies with their branches, located in various places and wanting to monitor energy consumption in a given branch on an ongoing basis. The Efento pulse counter located in the room measures and stores in its memory impulses that the user can read at any time using the smarfton with the free Efento Logger application. Data can be downloaded using a smartphone, and then generate a report and share it using any application (eg send by email or send to disk “in the cloud”).
- Efento Gateway LAN – Efento Gateway is a device that allows you to easily and comfortably manage many Efento sensors at once. Thanks to building in Ethernet and Bluetooth modules the Gateway receives the measurements from all sensors within its range and sends them to your Efento Cloud platform account. The platform works as a regular web page, therefore you can access the measurements and configure the system from all over the world. The only thing you need is a computer or other mobile device with Internet access. Efento Gateway also has a built-in memory that allows it to save up to 100 000 measurements and, in case of temporary connection lost with the platform, the measurements can be uploaded after regaining connectivity. Your data is now safer than ever!
- Efento Cloud – is a reporting and alarm mode for large objects and distributed objects. Data from the recorder are transferred to the gateway, and from it directly to the “in the cloud” platform, where they are saved and processed. The platform enables displaying current parameters on any (approved by the owner of the recorder) computer, generating and sending automatic reports and alerts via emails and SMS. For security, the platform works based on servers located in Frankfurt and Dublin, which virtually eliminates the possibility of data loss. This mode is used in Poland in about 160 large institutions. It provides the highest data security and reliability. Using the platform is associated with a one-time license fee for each connected recorder
Sensor’s passport documents the entire “live” of a device. By accessing the sensor.efento.io website, the user can check all information about it: date of sale, warranty status, date of calibration, information on all service activities. In addition, the user can download all documents regarding his device – a duplicate of calibration certificate or service protocols. The service is available for free.
Data transmitted wirelessly between the sensor and smartphone/ Efento Gateway can be encoded. Thanks to that unauthorized persons cannot read measuring data, but only devices having the right key can decode measuring data transmitted by the sensor.
Sensors are equipped with the wireless update of the software, what into the simplest manner you will bring them up to date to the latest version.
