The Property Manager, aiming for proactive risk monitoring concerning the flooding of a dozen properties and the active control of the drainage system, required the contractor to provide a comprehensive real-time groundwater level monitoring service.
The core component of this system was to be the installation of measuring devices in key locations, ensuring continuous (24/7) measurement with a maximum data transmission latency of 15 minutes. A crucial element was also a secure cloud platform enabling staff to remotely oversee all measuring points, offering an intuitive visualization of historical trends and data export capabilities. Furthermore, the system needed to feature configurable alarm thresholds that would automatically dispatch email/SMS notifications upon exceeding critical levels, thus guaranteeing an immediate operational response, while also providing for the automated generation of cyclical reports and long-term data archival.
PROBLEM TO SOLVE / TASK
The key challenges involved ensuring long-term battery operation, guaranteeing the reliability of both data transmission and cloud platform performance, and facilitating access to several years of historical data. Crucially, the ability to visualize data from multiple loggers was essential to effectively analyze the temporal correlation between different monitoring points.
SOLUTION
Vista has implemented an NB-IoT water level logger that utilizes a submersible pressure sensor to accurately measure the height of the water column in a well or borehole.

This device is specifically designed for remote monitoring. It employs Narrowband-IoT (NB-IoT) technology to wirelessly transmit the collected water level data directly to a cloud-based platform for storage, visualization, and analysis. This approach ensures low power consumption and wide area coverage, making it ideal for deployment in remote or underground locations.
Users can utilize a free mobile application to easily configure the device and locally read historical data stored in its internal memory. This capability allows for the creation of a complete remote monitoring system.
