We’re excited to introduce an Efento Cloud update focused on making alert rules smarter, easier to manage, and more effective in protecting the assets you care about. This enhancement improves how alerts are created, managed, and delivered — ensuring faster response and better control.
This release introduces several new capabilities:
- Location-based alert rules – allowing you to manage rules more efficiently across entire sites;
- Alert escalations – giving you full control over how and when notifications are delivered;
- Slack integration – enabling instant alerts directly in your team’s communication channels;
- Notification delivery information – providing detailed information what notifications where sent once a rule was triggered
Together, these enhancements ensure that your monitoring system is smarter, faster, and more responsive than ever before. The update has been automatically applied to all organizations, so you can start benefiting from these improvements right away — no action required. Location-based alert rules
With this enhancement, users can now create alert rules that apply to an entire location, automatically covering all sensors currently in that location as well as any sensors added in the future. This eliminates the need to manually update rules each time a new sensor is installed, greatly reducing setup time and simplifying rule management. Location-based alert rules use the same configuration parameters as existing individual sensor rules, ensuring a consistent experience while significantly minimizing the total number of rules users need to maintain.
Alert notification escalations
The Alert Escalation feature provides flexible and powerful control over how notifications are delivered when a rule is triggered, and it applies to all types of rules — including sensor, gateway, and location-based rules. Each alert rule can have its own custom notification scheme, allowing users to define who should receive alerts, which notification channels to use (such as push notifications, email, SMS, or phone calls), and what delay should apply before each notification is sent. For example, a user might configure a scheme to receive a push notification immediately when the rule is triggered, and a phone call if the issue remains unresolved after 60 minutes. Another setup could notify a technician as soon as the alert occurs and automatically escalate it to their supervisor after two hours if the rule is still active. This flexibility ensures that alerts are handled promptly and by the right people, minimizing response times and improving operational reliability across all monitored assets.
Slack integration
The Efento Cloud – Slack Integration allows teams to receive real-time alerts directly within the communication channels they use every day. This seamless connection ensures that critical information reaches the right people instantly, without requiring constant monitoring of dashboards or email inboxes. By automating notifications through Slack, teams can respond to issues faster, improve collaboration across departments, and maintain full visibility into environmental and operational data within Efento Cloud — all while keeping communication streamlined and efficient. Notifications from alert rules can be sent to both private and public Slack channels, allowing organizations to tailor how and where information is shared to best fit their workflows and team structures. Notification delivery information
Efento Cloud now provides greater transparency into alert activity with detailed notification delivery information. In the list of alerts, users can easily see which notifications were successfully sent and the exact timestamp of each delivery. This improvement makes it simple to verify that alerts reached their recipients as expected, helping teams track communication flow, confirm responsiveness, and maintain confidence in their monitoring setup.
