What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site.

  • First party cookies are cookies set by the website you’re visiting. Only that website can read them. In addition, a website might potentially use external services, which also set their own cookies, known as third-party cookies.
  • Persistent cookies are cookies saved on your computer and that are not deleted automatically when you quit your browser, unlike a session cookie, which is deleted when you quit your browser.

The purpose is to enable the site to remember your preferences (such as user name, language, organisation name) for a certain period of time. That way, you don’t have to re-enter them when browsing around the site during the same visit. Cookies can also be used to establish anonymised statistics about the browsing experience on our sites.

How do we use cookies?

First-party cookies – these cookies are used to remember your account settings and organisation to, which you have recently logged in and to remember, if you have already accepted our cookies policy.

  • login_tk – cookie used to store your login information and account settings. This is a first party persistent cookie, stored in your browser for 6 hours
  • CONSENT, CookieConsent – cookies used to remember, if the cookies policy has been accepted by the user. These are the first party persistent cookies, stored in your browser for 1 year

We also use third party cookies. These cookies are used to enable reCaptcha on the website – a service that allows to prevent robots from trying to register multiple accounts with Efento Cloud. All cookies related to reCaptcha are provided by Google, some of them are used for analytical, performance and marketing purposes. Learn more about Google’s privacy policy.

  • 1P_JAR, CONSENT, NID – third party cookies set by Google. This group sets a unique ID to remember your preferences and other information such as website statistics and track conversion rates. Expiry: Various
  • APISID – third party cookie set by Google. This cookie is set through the site by advertising partners, and used by them to build a profile of the website visitors interests and show relevant ads on other sites. This cookie works by uniquely identifying your browser and device 2 years
  • HSID – third party cookie set by Google. Google uses this cookie for security. It contains digitally signed and encrypted records of a user’s Google account ID and most recent sign-in time. This cookie allows google to block many types of attack, such as attempts to steal the content of forms that you complete on web pages. Expiry: 2 years
  • OTZ – third party cookies set by Google. Used by Google Analytics that provides an aggregate analysis of Website visitors. Expiry: 2 years
  • S – third party cookie set by Google. Google Analytics may collect certain information used to help improve services, including the pages users visit most often and whether users get error messages from certain pages. Expiry: 2 years
  • SAPISID – third party cookie set by Google. This DoubleClick cookie is generally set through the site by advertising partners, and used by them to build a profile of the website visitor’s interests and show relevant ads on other sites. This cookie works by uniquely identifying your browser and device. Expiry: 2 years
  • SID – third party cookie set by Google. Google uses this cookie for security. It contains digitally signed and encrypted records of a user’s Google account ID and most recent sign-in time. This cookie allows google to block many types of attack, such as attempts to steal the content of forms that you complete on web pages. Expiry: 2 years
  • SIDCC – third party cookie set by Google. Google Analytics uses this security cookie to protect a user’s data from unauthorised access. Expiry: 2 years
  • SSID – third party cookie set by Google. Google set a number of cookies on any page that includes a Google Map. While we have no control over the cookies set by Google, they appear to include a mixture of pieces of information to measure the number and behaviour of Google Maps users. Expiry: 2 years
  • __Secure-3PAPISID – third party cookie set by Google. Cookie used to deliver ads more relevant to you and your interests. Expiry: 2 years
  • __Secure-3PSID – third party cookie set by Google. Cookie used to deliver ads more relevant to you and your interests. Expiry: 2 years
  • __Secure-3PSIDCC – third party cookie set by Google. Cookie used to deliver ads more relevant to you and your interests. Expiry: 1 year
  • __Secure-1PAPISID – third party cookie set by Google. Cookie used to deliver ads more relevant to you and your interests. Expiry: 1 week
  • __Secure-1PSID – third party cookie set by Google. Cookie used to deliver ads more relevant to you and your interests. Expiry: 1 week
  • __Secure-13PSIDCC – third party cookie set by Google. Cookie used to deliver ads more relevant to you and your interests. Expiry: 1 week
  • __Secure-ENID – third party cookie set by Google. Cookie used to deliver ads more relevant to you and your interests. Expiry: 13 months
  • _GRECAPTCHA – third party cookie set by Google. Used to provide spam protection. Expiry: 6 months

How can you manage cookies?

Removing cookies from your device

You can delete all cookies that are already on your device by clearing the browsing history of your browser. This will remove all cookies from all websites you have visited. Be aware though that you may also lose some saved information (e.g. saved login details, site preferences).

Blocking cookies

You can set most modern browsers to prevent any cookies being placed on your device, but you may then have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site/page. And some services and functionalities may not work properly at all (e.g. profile logging-in).
