What carriers does the SIM card use?

SIM card is issued by Deutsche Telekom but it will provide connectivity in all the networks that have signed roaming agreement with Deutsche Telekom. There are no additional roaming fees. The full and always up to date list of countries and networks in which the SIM card can be used is available here.

 

Where can I use the NB-IoT SIM card provided by Efento?

SIM card will work in the following countries:  Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Lichtenstein, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA. Where can I check the NB-IoT network coverage?

On the carriers websites. For instance NB-IoT coverage of the Deutsche Telekom group networks

 

There is no coverage in the area where I plan to deploy the devices, what should I do? / There is no coverage in the building where I plan to deploy the devices, what should I do?

Please contact your local carrier and check, if it is possible to improve the coverage in that area.

 

Are there any ongoing fees? Do I need to sign a contract?

No. It’s pay as you go. When you purchase the device with SIM card, you pay once and get the connectivity for 5 years. After 5 years, you can extend the connectivity service for next 5 years.

 

What’s the data package per SIM?

1 MB per month. It is more than enough for sensor operations. For example, sensor uses about 250 kB of data with measurement interval set to 3 minutes and transmission interval set to 30 minutes

 

Can I use the SIM card with any NB-IoT device?

No. It will only work with Efento NB-IoT sensors.
