Efento Cloud has been updated with several valuable features. Key enhancements include alerts based on gateway statuses, custom measurement types, and the ability to generate reports covering more sensors and longer time periods. These updates are available to all Efento Cloud users, both new and existing. For full details, please refer to the Efento Cloud user manual.
Alerts based on gateway statuses
The September 2024 update introduced detailed gateway monitoring, allowing users to view gateway statuses and the number of sensors transmitting data through them. With this update, we have added the ability to configure alerts based on gateway statuses. Users can now receive notifications if a gateway:
- Stops communicating with Efento Cloud
- Switches its power source from a USB adapter to the built-in backup battery (LTE gateways only)
- Has a low backup battery voltage (LTE gateways only)
Gateway-related alert rules are configured in the same way as sensor-related rules. All configuration options, including notification channels, delays, and other settings, are available for gateway alerts as well.
Custom measurement types
With this update, users can now define custom measurement types, specifying their units, ranges, icons, and resolution. These custom types enable the conversion of values from analog sensors (4-20 mA / 0-10 V and pulse counters) into human-readable data. Previously, measurements from analog sensors could only be converted into Efento Cloud’s predefined types.
As we continue to see new projects requiring measurement types and units not natively supported by Efento Cloud, we have introduced this feature to give users greater flexibility. Custom measurement types function exactly like native ones, meaning all Efento Cloud features—such as rules, notifications, and reports—are fully supported.
