Integration of Efento sensors with TMS

About our client

Żabka Poland is the owner of the largest chain of convenience stores in Poland branded Żabka. In total, Żabka Poland has over 5 200 branches around the country.

Problem to solve / task

Every day, company’s vehicles fleet delivers thousands of orders to stores located throughout the country. Taking care of the highest quality of the products offered, the client wanted to build a temperature registration and monitoring system for stored and transported goods at each stage of distribution. In addition, one of company’s key goals was to build a convenient system for data storing for the needs of documentation.

Testimonial

Żabka Polska S.A.

“Thanks to the integration of Efento sensors, temperature measurements taken during transportation in a cold supply chain will be saved in the TMS system. All logistics information is therefore included in one system, which enables convenient data collection and processing.”

Transport manager

Solution

Customer decided to use Efento sensors and integrate them using Efento SDK with a custom built Transport Management System. Integration was performed by a company which provides Żabka with TMS system in cooperation with Efento. Each of the drivers responsible for goods delivery is equipped with an Android smartphone which is used to communicate with logistics managers (receive tasks / updates) and display and send temperature measurements to company’s TMS system. Integration of Efento sensors with Transport Management System resulted in significant cost reduction on transport conditions documentation. Before using Efento sensors Żabka had to print and store for five years temperature records from every single vehicle what resulted in storing hundreds of thousands pages of paper. Switching to digital documentation allowed company to save money, get better insights into the data and instant notifications, if temperature in any of the vehicles is too high.

Results

The client builds an integrated cold supply chain control system starting from the central warehouse through transloading to cross-dock warehouses to the final delivery to stores. The integration with the TMS system will enable convenient collection and processing of measurement data for the purpose of documentation and further improvement and optimization of logistics processes.
